I recently had the opportunity to attend Michael Palin – Live on Stage” A Night of Celebration at Cadogan Hall, London. Not only were we lucky enough to get front row seats at Cadogan Hall but our ticket included a ‘meet & greet’ too (not to mention the prosecco…one, two.. lost count).
This whole night was to bring awareness and raise donations for the Action for Stammering Children charity, one that Michael has supported for many years (his father had a stammer, plus who can forget his performance in A Fish Called Wanda).
I’d had the pleasure of seeing Michael speak in Bath last year when he was launching his book Erebus with my husband, so knew that the ‘A Night of Celebration’ event, where he was going to recount some tales from his travels and Python years, was going to be special.
I grabbed my best mate and headed on in and we were not disappointed at all. If you ever get a chance to see Michael speak, go!, I can’t recommend the experience more.
The ‘meet and greet’ after allowed some of the lucky ones to ask some questions… below is a video of the question my friend Sarah asked (15 seconds into the video). I think she has only just forgiven me for shouting out that we had a question! Sorry Sezel x
As a huge Python fan, this was just an incredible night and one I won’t forget in a hurry. Big thanks to Sarah for coming with me and also to Sir Michael Palin for his time. I just wanted to mention the touching tribute he paid to Terry Jones, I think that will stay with me forever.
