I’m so delighted to have Maria Tran back on The Mighty Dragon. Now based in Vegas, Maria has been super busy (and that’s an understatement) with multiple projects.
One being working alongisde Tim Roth in Last King of the Cross, a big budget Australian series based on the book by John Ibrahim. She talks to me about her character, Madame Tien, and the inspiration she got creating this formidable character.
It appears that Maria’s mothers strength and courage laid the foundation for Maria to pursue her dreams and charge through any challenges she faced on her own journey.
A big key is knowing how to collaborate with others, manage egos and build on the strength of your team, inspire and motivate all personnel on the project. Do your research and know the industry. Find out who’s who and do your research and be respectful to those in the industry when you approach them.
Alex’s daughter reminded him of his passion at at time he was at a loss how he could help his filmmaker friends in a time of struggle. Subsequently along came, COVID 19: Sins & Virtues.
Shot in Australia, this series has a very modern feel, utilizing the power of social media within the story and on screen. I was delighted that actress Renee Lim, who played Alice in Clickbait, agreed to join me on the podcast.
